The answers so far indicate that WE the people who live on Earth will never become tolerant of others. And even the word tolerant is not meant as negative, but accepting of people as they are, regardless of our beliefs. I appreciate the honesty in the answers, but come on...can we all be that negative?

Earth is not the home for all of we . The people from Earth do not tolerancy and love of the family , the God and the friends .
The Creation of God gave way to the heavenely acts from the beginning of the Descent till the exsodeus of the enemy or the cause of the descent from Heavens to nature like Earth.
The appellation we .. Earth does not cope with all. Some think they are of dust and some from Ash. Love and Hate and consideration do not contradict each other , they do not sum us to one conclusion , only persons , or parsons , or sects make the difference . Wars are not a likable to denote fiendships , nor terror by assuming from this hate ,from hat love .

Your question is very bias: the word "tolerant" means you are always right while the others are always wrong, you are always strong while the others are always weak, you have all the right while the others have no right, you are worth existence and living while they are not worth breathing; and despite this you want to tolerate them. Isn't this the concept of tolerance with all religions and political groups?

Instead we can say when we, partners, can understand that it is our interest to keep the boat balanced in the middle of the sea and wind. In your life I find mine. What would happen if I dumbed you off the boat into the sea? Would I remain on the boat?

Well "earth" is not humanity...I think the earth could survive our annihilation...But I don't mean this as a schoolmarm,or a diletante of semantics...Your question is simple and straightforward...

Hmm?...What if the Big Bang were an accomplished fate?..That the whole expansion and contraction could be viewed as a "spatial" continuum from the exterior...

Imagine yourself viewing a cadeucis...

Now one of those twining serpents...is our earth winding its way around the sun annually...serialtime as we know and experience it...the "expanding" earth serial timeline...

The other serpent...the contracting earth serialtime line...let us call the "lunar" conduit...And let us say that this lunar continuum is a continuum of the subconscious... the afterworld... and even varied temporal dream states of reward and demerit we call heaven and hells...

Now,let us posit that the purpose of this entire cadeucis is to process consciousness...from mineral...to vegetable...to animal...and finally human...and higher yet...these qualities you inquire of "tolerance and loving"...

Let us speculate that the journey of each individual consciousness is not linear and serial....but rather each wormholes as it needs to...in order to experience vicissitudes and eventually gain compassion, consciousness and the qualities you have alluded too...

This would even mean...that humanity could annihilate itself...and yet the journey collectively could continue...improving upon itself...likely on its first run...certain ratios of undeveloped human souls would be maintained from beginning to end...This would certainly be disallusioning to the few somewhat aware-as it would seem little "progress" is being achieved...yet in actuality no effort towards consciousness would be wasted in such a model...as the work one made on oneself today...could be improving a consciousness that will be appearing at a higher octave in the future of a linear soul...three thousand years in the past...if that is where the proper womb and viccissitudes will be found for one to "pick up on one's next lessons"...

In such a model...your concerns are assured a positive outcome...it is a loaf of bread that is rigged with a yeast so that the whole will eventually rise in consciousness and compassion...

I hope I haven't strayed to far in this model...and that it gives you some of the hope and peace that it gives to me...

Are you talkin about earth being tolerant to us, those who occupy it? or that we are people on earth towards Aliens if you wanna call it?
As for aliens i'm not sure we will be for one reason.....we are not tolerant and loving towards people, who live on earth, but are different from us.......so i don't understand how we can be with extra galactical species.
As for earth being tolerant and loving towards us....then it has been and will continue to do so....the only reason that earth comes with a huge rage on us once in a while is because of our misuse to it. Other natural disasters are the reason for more productivity, and expansion of earth's natural resources so we can live a more prosperous life on earth.
Good luck

As long as people look different, talk differently, speak differently there will never be absolute tolerance. Cloning may take care of this, so when everyone looks, acts and speaks exactly the same there will be tolerance... but right now we are all Sneetches, some with stars....

No we will never learn to be tolerant and loving to each other. You have good people in this world and bad people . Some people are just selfish . they want others to be that way to them but just can,t return it. even tho that,s the right thing to do.I am one that really belives in it. we can only be an example for others and pray that somebody will follow suite.

Do you mean the earth, or the people itself???? The earth just grows and does it's thing, and the animals don't care... we are the only ones that can make hate; but then again gold made us hate and it's from the earth, so it's a never ending battle... I think the earth should just say " blah I am sick of it" and blow up.

Do we also tolerate the man who beats his wife or kids? Are we to be tolerant of someone like Adolph Hitler?

I dont understand why it always has to be "TOTAL" tolerance, or none at all. Why cant we simply tolerate the ones who deserve it and NOT tolerate the intolerable?

Its always possible. In fact as soon as we believe that it isn't possible then it becomes truly impossible. Hate is an illusion, but a powerful one.

The only thing holding us back from loving each other is our fears: our fear of poverty, our fear of the unknown, our fear of being rejected by our precious little social groups.

If we can conquer our fears then we can indeed be more tolerant. It IS possible. We have to find the courage to love.

I, for one, think there are much better things than being tolerant. Tolerance is a virtue by omission; it is, in essence, omitting to hate. My idea of a virtue is something far more active and dynamic. Courage, maybe. Or better yet, joy.
