yesterday i was talking with a friend and she kept telling me that men and women cant be close friends...i have a friend of the oposite sex and we are really close have been friends for 4 years.... the girl i spoke to yesterday told me that soon at least one of us is going to fall for the other...what do u think??? and no comments like "well if one of them is ugly" coz thats no the case here. :)

I realy do think that Men and Woman can be close even Very close friends, with out there being sex.
I have many Female friends, and the thought has nether entered my mind that there could (nor would want) there to be anythink more.
It is a VERY sad world we live in if Men and Woman were only close for sex!
It mattres not about being gay or even ugly, All poeple can be friends man and woman, woman and woman, man and man, what dose it matter.
Your friend and many others out there are just very closed minded, and are just going along with what we are told and not what thay them self think.

I guess it is possible to be close friends with a person of the opposite sex but remember that some of the same ingredients that want you to be close friends with this person are likely to make you get attracted to each other. After all friendship is the initial and very important step for a romantic relationship also.

this is a tricky question. I personally believe a guy and a girl can be friends. It is best tho if you are in a relationship not to be alone with a guy friend. You don't want to place your self in a situation where if the two of you did start to get feelings for each other, you wouldn't be putting your relationship at risk. If you are single, sure. You know some of the best marriages and relationships have come out of being friends first. If you know you want to stay only friends, don't cross that sexual line with each other.

Yes a man and woman can be close Friends with out sex or anything I have enjoyed a friendship with my best Friend a girl for about 20 years we are both married both our partners don't feel threatened by our friendship. So yes it men and women can be close Friends

It is not possible to be close freinds without feelings of love and romance existing usually the affected individual supresses this feeling and the relationship continues with the other blissfully unaware other times it all goes horribly wrong. If you dont like this boy then the chances are he has feelings buried away for you (although if he is gay he may view you as a same sex freind)

Well its not as clear cut a situation as it might seem. I can think of one situation that might work and that would be if both were very much in love with another person. I don't have a guy friend that isnt suggestive (I can't actually say I have many). I think it is easier for women to be just friends, I know plenty of guys online I enjoy talking to but do not think of them as more than friends. Don't they say gay men make excellent friends for women, would love to see how that works.

There is always the opposite's attract thing which makes it hard for a man and a woman to be close friends, and just friends. From personal experience it never works. One always end up falling for the other and then someone gets hurt.

convinced they're usually, besides the undeniable fact that the spouses favor to be lined in the friendship on some factor. If for no different reason then to save the jealous factor to a min. even if if no longer something ever befell between the "close" acquaintances, someone will imagine it has. preserving the spouses lined will reduce it.yet once that accusation is tossed obtainable, there'll be a good number of heart discomfort.

Yes men & women can be close friends. I would love to have a guy best friend, but I don't, however I do have about 6-7 close guy friends who are all very protective of me (they're best friends with my older bro). If u feel comfortable around ur guy friend/s then don't worry what other ppl say, EVER1 NEEDS GUD FRIENDS IN LIFE :)

Of course men and women can be close friends, it happens all the time. I'm not saying that one of you won't fall for the other, but it doesn't have to happen that way. Your friend is way off base. Good luck and I hope you will always stay close friends.
