It's easy to find their tunnels; they appear on the ground surface as raised areas. To check if it's an active tunnel, flatten part of it and if it has been raised the next day, they are still using it.

look for ridges in the ground where they came close to the surface place your trap over the tunnel with your bait and wait if they come back along that way they will go to the bait also depends on what kind of trap you use

Just walk around. You will feel a ridge of soft dirt. You can usually follow it around to see where they have tunneled. We try to smash ours back down cause it can damage the grass by lifting it away from the soil and the roots are not in dirt. Just walking on the ridge mashes the roots back in the dirt.

as people are saying, look for those raised mounds of soil ( known as mole hills ) if you ain't got any then you ain't got any moles.
and if your wanting to get rid of them ( how could you kill a mole? there well cute and what has it ever done to you? ) my dad says that all you have to do is give it a flick on the nose. best to dig it up and take it to the wild though.

They are the hole-looking things in the ground. Generally speaking if it is sticking up it's a mound, but if it is sticking down it's a hole.
