Best hitting catcher of all time is Piazza.

Best all around catcher, probably Johnny Bench or Carlton Fisk.

Best catcher today is Jason Varitek, although Joe Mauer might soon be the catcher.

Im am only 28 so I wouldn't know who the best catcher of all time is. If i could take a guess I would have to go for yogi berra. The best catcher today if you go by the numbers is Mike Piazza. He is definately on his way to the hall of fame. I hope this helps.

The best catcher today is Joe Mauer of the Twins, this kid is only 23 and can only get better. The best catcher of all-time is hard cause do you go by titles with Yogi Berra or Stats offensive with Johnny Bench or Defensive with Bob Boone (was the only one to throw out Ricky Henderson they year he broke the record for most stolen bases). I’ll take Yogi’s 10 World Series title.

To me, the best of all time - Johnny Bench. Don't have an answer for the best catcher today. I liked Mike Piazza of the Mets, but I am not sure if he is still playing. Don't watch much baseball anymore.

Johnny Bench is the best catcher of all time in my opinion. As far as the best catcher today goes, it's hard to argue against Joe Mauer.

Roy Campanella of the old Brooklyn Dodgers is the best of all time. Jason Veritek is currently the best catcher in baseball. His knowledge of the game, of opposing hitters, and of the strengths and weaknesses of his own pitching staff make him the best. No question.

I hope this helps.
