One should always keep an open mind when asking for opinions and ideas. It is important then, to sit down, reflect and choose the most adequate one to help you get the most desired effect. For example, recently, I was considering leaving a group I am involved in, in order to help me better organize myself. I asked for opinions on which group I should leave (out of a possible of three). I got opinions and thoughts from many friends, colleges and family members. Finally, I had to sift through their input and make a decision based on what I wanted the outcome to be.
In making the decision, I did agree with some, not others. However, I did not critisize or put anyone down in the process. Everybody's thoughts and opinions made sense, if I only looked at things from their perspective.
When one is asking for input from others, one should not ever criticise others. Rather, we should have an open mind, and listen. Other people speak from their own experiences and past, much like we do. Keeping an open mind gives us more options, and helps us to not feel so trapped at times.

I am the type of person who will answer honestly and do find myself criticizing others ideas at times. While I can be truthful, I expect other people to be truthful back to me. I take other people's suggestions and try to create some form of compromise or use the suggestion to better the idea. It is important to use the right type of criticism too. Being positive and using constructive criticism rather than just stating the negatives is the most effective way to express your suggestions or concerns.

I never accept what others suggest.
It's the curse of having a high IQ.
I always have to find a way to improve on the ideas of others or find a better idea.
I don't criticize unless it's a really stupid idea.
