pretty silly to think that in a place this big ( the universe) that we are *that* special and that we might be the ONLY ones...

I think there is life beyond planet Earth or beyond our solar system. The universe is an extremely huge place. Why would we assume that our solar system and the planet Earth is unique.

In my opinion, there could be several thousands or even millions of other planets just like Earth witihin or beyond our galaxy that we cannot detect with our current instruments.

These other life form may not be the "E.T." character that Hollywood created, but they could just be another form of a simple plant life which will have no means of communiting back to Earth (after receiving signals from SETI), and tell us all Earthlings that they do really exists.

the universe is so impossibly massive and increasing. their are massive quantities of planets in the goldylox zone(section round host superstar the position the temperature for a planet might want to keep up simular existence to that on earth) and we've not even seen all obtainable liveable planets besides the undeniable fact that the possibility of existence coming up and evolving into an smart creacher is about as in all probability as prevailing 5 diverse loteries and being struck through lighting fixtures collectively. we gained't say theres different intellegent existence different then us yet lets by no skill rull it out. to boot even if if their were different existence obtainable, we would do not have any genuine way of having there. also verbal replace will be almost no longer obtainable using language and time piriods it would take for the message to get in the course of the distence necessary.

Our immediate vicinity in the Universe has some 100 billion galaxies each with 100-400 billion stars. If 1% had planets and 1% of those had life and 1% of those had intelligent technological civilisations you are left with an unimaginable number. Personally I believe that life is the default state of matter and is abundant. It is only the tyranny of distance that separates us. Jules, lecturer. Australia.

With an untold number of suns and planets out there, it is most likely that sentient and non-sentient life can be found in the universe. Some may be carbon based, others, who knows?
