Go to your local library and check out some self-help computer books. Read through them and try doing the things they talk about on your own computer. Books like: Absolute Beginners Guide to Windows XP; Windows XP for Dummies; The Complete Idiot's Guide to Windows XP. And lot's of other books. They are written in easy to understand language and they have lots of photos to guide you along.

And don't forget to read the owner's manual that came with the computer. It will tell you things about YOUR specific computer that you really need to know. Things that will help make your future computing experiences more enjoyable.

I'm not sure what system your using but Windows XP comes with a trainer.
If it's in the same location as mine Click START, go into all programs, move mouse to Accessories, then Microsoft Interactive Training, then move to Microsoft Interactive Training and click on it. (it's a program so it might be in a different location than mine is.)
from there follow instructions to start training.
Hope this helps.
There are also many FREE training sights on the web. do a MSN or Google search for the training you want.

And while I have you here, I was thinking of starting a website for training Novices on the basics of Windows XP. It would contain some important information that Microsoft forgot. Think I should?
