If you know when (approximate date) you are going to begin cramping. Start a painkiller (over the counter, unless they are as severe as mine) before they start!. Then continue throughout out the time they would be there...probably 2x a day or as directed per what ever medication you choose. You may never even know you had them :)
I have also heard that milk products help, calcium or something like that. But I am lactose intolerant so I havent tried. Besides my codine works wonders!
Ofcourse heating pad, and warm bath also works, and gives you a reason to relax...stress can make cramping more intense.

I play a lot of sports and if I eat a banana a day (sometimes two) I never ever get cramps of any kind. Not sure it would work for you stomach cramp, but it wouldn't hurt to try.

i find neourefin plus is great...but if ur against painkillers try a really warm waterbottle laid across ur lower groin...and rest for while when cramps r bad....moving around and walking can ease the cramps...but too much movement can also make u bleed heavier....good luck and believe me....is the only time i wish i was male!

The first answers says. If you know your period is coming soon, stop eating chocolate or any drinks with caffiene. They add to your problem. Make sure you drink lots of water and if you elevate your hips, that makes a difference as well.

your uterus is a muscle...
when a muscle cramps you need to stretch it out....
try walking
too often women go to bed and lie around and this in effect makes the cramping worse.
my sister suffered terribly from period cramps until after she had her first child..
also orgasm can relieve the pain.

Okay, if this offends anyone I apologize, but it truly is an amazing cramp reliever. I don't know if you masturbate, but bringing yourself to orgasm will (for most people anyway) get rid of cramps. I know it has done wonders for me. I actually find myself wishing I got cramps more! (I rarely get them but the solution is quite fun.) :) Again, if you're offended, I'm sorry, but this is really nothing to be ashamed of!
