Again, as others have said, not -all- Americans think this way. But most do.

As a nation, we have this tremendous sense of arrogance and entitlement. We see ourselves collectively as some sort of moral high ground (sic) Savior for the rest of the world. We've been the top economic and global power (though that's slowly changing) for over fifty years now, and we take that as a sign of our being inherently superior to all others, for some reason.

I think it may partially be because we have no history, and have to make a big deal out of -everything- our nation has done, because our accomplishments placed beside those of any other major, older power like Britain, China, etc are basically nil.

I call it arrogance. Look, if you're talking about the economic or law-abiding aspects, Americans are great. That's why people flock to the US. But the Americans are wrong if they think that the people from around the world migrate to the US coz they're great people in personal relationships. They only come to the US for earning good.

If Americans were such a great people, they'd stand up against the invasion of various places by the US forces. If they mind their own business, I say they'd be the most beloved nation of the world.

There is some problem with the Americans (maybe genetically), they always think that they're superior to other races, and that's evident from the fact that they think that they can do anything in the world, and no one should retaliate in their defense. That's not the system of civilised nations, that's a sign of 'the jungle rule', where might is always right.

Confidence is a good thing, but over-confidence is a blunder. Elephant is a huge animal, but a single scorpion can wreak havoc in the elephant's trunk ;-)

I've been around the world and I'm here to tell you the best place to be is the United States of America. It is not perfect. But it is the best we have so far. If it weren't people wouldn't be flocking here (legal and illegal) from every country around the world. If you havn't experienced living in America you can only talk from jealousy if you have to put us down. I've loved my time all over the world. But the place to live is right here in the good ol'
U.S of A.

Why do you assume you know the feelings of every American?
I am an American. I am just an average person. I do not think that
I am better than anyone. I am sure there are people of every
nation that feels they are better than some one else!
