go to open office at:

http://www.openoffice.org/

and get the download. It is just like MS Office only FREEEEE!!!! Did I mention no cost? I has all the beels n whistles and handles all the same files even pdf's!

Open word File menu > Open Select File Type > Microsoft Excel Worksheet Open the File

I think you want use excel files in VB or any other application.you can downlaod MS EXCEL VIEWER.You can Find it in Microsofts Website.

if the 3rd party app is worth is money. It will have an interface function somewhere in the [file, edit, view] drop-down menues. Or try looking in the Apps help menu.

Just save it as a csv File, then you can open it with Editor or anything else. The only problem is, it works only on one worksheet.

I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND.WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY "INTO AN APPLICATION"?A *.XLS FILE CAN BE IMPORTED ANYWHERE.ARE YOU DOWNLOADING IT?IF SO, GO TO TOOLS>OPTIONS>ADVANCED>AND CHECK EVERYTHING UNDER "BROWSING" AND "SECURITY".
