i recently bought a macbook, downloaded limewire, trashed limewire, trashed all my itunes songs from limewire, and my computer is supposed to be superfast with the intel technology and whatever, but it's so slow, it can't even run safari & itunes @ the same time, wtf? what do i need to make it faster, i have cable internet, and i recently bought a router, but it's not helping @ all! i run disk utility, i even took it to the mac store? what's up. i only use my mac book to check e-mail, watch dvd's and play music. isn't that the bare minimum, this laptop should be able to handle that much, right?

Save ur data and files same where in an external hard disk or CD or what ever and then format and reinstall the operating system again
the main thing to back-up is ur Desktop, My Documents and Favorites
( it's in c:\Documents and Settings\"the user name")
Don't forget Outlook and any other program that has data to be backed up.

That comes bundled with spyware if you get the PC version
Dunno about the mac version
Spyware slows things down like mad.
Spyware is most often NOT uninstalled when the program that brought it is.

You may have too many running ads. Try typing adaware into your search engine. It is a free service, and really helps. Especially if your cpu is a laptop. Limewire has loads of ads.

Well in nearly all groups, your web is actually plugged into a few field on or close your road. When everybody plugged into that field attempt to max out their web connections you may also revel in a few slower web. As to your laptop, it does have whatever to do with it. Your internet browser has to load, and your laptop runs it. Viruses too can gradual down your laptop and absorb plenty of your web connection, making it look gradual

u need to upgrade or increase the RAM (random access memory) which increases the computer's speed. most laptops have 256 MB by default so u need to get it upto 512 MB atleast (my pc has 1024MB), also having more disksapce also helps.

defragment it.
start>all programs>Accesories>system tools> disk defragmenter
or scan with antivirus software
or delete unused crap in ur HD
