They are not public service workers. Police, firemen, i.e.. are public service workers. But these people you are talking about have to put up with stupid people who don't care how long someone else has been waiting and ask questions that have no rhetorical value day after day. Your not the first customer they have ever had and you have no rights in private businesses.

what specific help did you need? And... if they say they can't help you... did they offer a suggestion as to where you could receive the help you needed?

we you asking a bank teller to change the diapers on your baby?... were you panhandling in the grocery store?

oh.. and the people who work in those places are not public service workers.. they are private company employees.. and they are told what they can do and what they cannot do by their bosses.

Because they were not meant to be nice to so many people they don't know, day after day, every hour, with every one. Human beings were not meant for that. They were meant to live in small groups, in the wild or in a little city, to be surrounded by their relatives, and a few other known faces. But things changed very quickly, and there we are, having to smile, all the time... and you get very tired --sometimes you don't even notice how tired you are, but you are, tired, tired, tired.

I think you must be an Indian to experience such incidences. It is an Indian service worker mentality, But, there are certain people, who though in minority, would love to help people. But, you are so unlucky, I think, not to find a person who could help you.

There are a lot of simple things like you are expressing that places and people have been sued for and they now just won't do anything so they don't get in trouble.
