Internet Retailers are people who sell things through the Internet.

I'm not sure how Yahoo Shopping or Amazon started, but If you want to start you can set up a store on eBay and start selling things.

I know people who make some good spending money by buying things at Thrift Stores that are under priced and selling them on eBay.

I have heard that listing things on eBay can be involved, but I think it is worth it. Once you start that going, if you get the passion for it, you will find the way to take your business to the next level.

Internet Retailing is good for people like me. I work on my computer all day and I am comfortable with that interface for shopping. It is very convenient for me to shop and not have to drive anywhere.

An "Internet retailer" refers to anyone (usually a company rather than an individual person) that sells things over the Internet. Almost every store has an Internet website these days, and many of them offer shopping on line. (Think of a store you like, and check it out.)

Q: How do they start about as Internet retailers? Is the job hard? A: Not sure, but the 1st step is probably to make a website.

Q: Why Internet retailing is good?
A: (I'm guessing here), that many companies have started doing it because of the demand for it. It's almost expected these days, that if you are, say Wal-Mart, you will offer your customers the option of buying things on line as well. It's not only "the big boys" like Wal-Mart though. (To my knowledge, Wal-Mart doesn't offer on line shopping to Canadian customers yet) - but that's probably just a matter of time. Reason? If they do some market research that tells them they're losing sales to others who sell the same stuff on line to Canadians, they'll have to start, in order to stay competitive.

Maybe you could call one and ask. I think the origin comes from the postal order companies that have their origin in the u.s.

That is because the distances are very large there and many people have no stores in the neighbourhood where they can buy clothes etc.

That is also why - if it is done honestly and with precision - it is very good that there is internet retailing.

But one should be aware of crooks (like in any store - you also find crooks in a convenience store)
