Of course you can. So many of us are. I'm not sure it is insecurity as much as a self criticism that can talk yourself out of making the right decisions. Whether the seed was planted by those we admired when we were kids, or whether it has become a learned response, we can be our own worst critic. Finding faults in what we do.........what we say......how we conduct our lives. When we continue to do this, we not only talk ourselves into believing we are not worthy, we begin to convince others of this as well. Funny how that works with enemies eh? They have such influence on other's feelings. So if we are our own worst enemy.......we hold that key to success or defeat. It takes strength to override what your inner voice is telling you. That's where that outward support from others is so vital.

Our Indian philosophy ,the Buddhist scriptures,the Bible ,almost every religion agreed that we r our worsest enemy in this world.It is said because ,according to Indian Philosophy this external world is merely a reflection of our own Inner Being,THE SOUL. What we do as what we think of this world and our perception about it.When our 5 senses and our brain does not interacts with this external world or so called "energies" properly we got frustated and performs wrong works.And this brings misery to the "wrong doer"and to all of them around him/her.Try to be honest to ur ownself and others.I think something had gone bad with uor u had done some mischief due to misunderstanding(s).But do not loose hope or get depressed,OK !!!;
WISH U ALL THE BEST

Yes, u can be your best friend or worst enemy ? When u think and act positive, u are your best friend and if u think or act negative, u are your worst enemy. Remember that....

Sure, ask those cutters and emo kids. Look at the self-damage they do to themselves.
Personally it is all perspective. You CAN choose to be your own worst enemy, living your life hating yourself. OR, you can choose to take ownership of your actions, and love yourself. Really it boils down to responsibility, or the extreme lack thereof.

we tend to be our own worst critic, and that may lead to very harmful thinking or actions so in that sense we can definitely be our own worst enemy

Sure. If you put yourself down all the time, and generally have a terrible self image, that can do more harm to you than what anyone else thinks.

Yes, just do something unforgivable to yourself-like get married-then sit back and bask in self loathing.
