i don't know if this is something that only happens were i live, but no matter what time of year,i see people walking up the middle of my street. not only is there sidwalks, they are very user friendly, with ramps, and in good repair. i can't think of any good reason for this.drivers are going around then, honking horns, etc. and still they do this. is this a wide spread thing? do they want to get hit?

I've traveled from one end of this country to the other and I've seen it everywhere. I think it comes from the "all about me" garbage kids are taught in school. They simply don't care about anyone but themselves and they figure since it's NOT LEGAL to hit them you won't. They just do what ever they want.

You've obviously never been told this before so let me explain it. It's all a worldwide game. They are all just characters in this game. The point of the game is to run over as many of them as possible and you get points for everyone you run over. So the next time you see Little Junior thinking he's being a bad *** by walking in the middle of the road don't slow down. You get points docked for that. What you need to do is floor the gas. As soon as Little Junior hears those tires screeching he might learn that the only way to avoid being in the game is to stay on the god damn sidewalk.

Depends what time of day you're talking. Middle of the night, I'm walking home from movies, I don't expect to get run over, AND the streetlights don't really get the footpath in my area.
If you're on a skateboard, any little kink in the cement can send you flying, so you're basically safer on the road.

I think it is a power thing, they think if they walk in the street they are in control..I asked the kids down the street why and their answer was to watch you go around us and get mad...
( BRATS ).. My kids always stay on the sidewalk ..

That's very odd... do you think they have just left the pub?

I'm surprised the police dont clamp down on this... somebody is going to get very hurt maybe even killed. I would let the township know whats been going on and let them deal with it.

ignorance. people just don't care about anyone else but themselves. people have no manors to day or any concideration for anyone else.

same reason why people don't signal or hold the door anymore and chew with their mouths open! its all about them them them, not we. they figure someone gave them the careless behavior so its ok to do it themselves.

Poor parenting if you ask me.
