SUMMARY
This article describes how to shut down the Windows operating system in an emergency situation.
In some situations you may have to shut down the Windows operating system very quickly.
The process described in this article is not the recommended way to shut down your computer, but it can be performed in extreme circumstances when you either cannot normally shut down your computer, or you need to bring it offline without saving any current information. This process, however, is less harmful than turning off the power to your computer by performing a hard restart (reboot).
CAUTION: If you perform the following steps, your operating system can shut down quickly without prompting you to save any currently open documents. Any unsaved information is going to be lost.

Yes sure my friend there is. You can buy a software named tune xp. It has many functions. It also speeeeeeeeeds up the computer turn on process by rearranging the bootup files. The computer turns on and off unbelievebly 15 times faster. You just need to click the speed up shutdown/startup key. It will only take 5-10 minutes. You can also find the software on a good download website. good Luck dude!

Hold in the power button. But id only recommend you do that when it seems the computer has frozen.
THe best option is always clicking the "shut down," button. Its longer, but its certain nothing will get damaged :)

It depends, has your computer ever started up fast? If it did at one time and now it is slow, then you should de-fragment your computer. If it is still slow, there might be some program or virus on your computer causing it to slow down.
