The smell of cat poo and urine is spoiling summer in the garden but I don't want to harm the animals. I have tried a cat sprinkle from Wilkinson which is great but washes away in the rain and eventually gets expensive. Any other solutions ? thank you

Sprinkle Red Pepper flakes around the garden area that is most often used. Should help after a short time. If red pepper flakes don't solve the problem, use black pepper. Another solution would be to set up an outdoor litter box.

You have to make it an unpleasant place that they don't want to go.
There are lots of plants that they don't like the scent of. However my favorite is a spray bottle with a long range! They hate being wet and it shocks them. Doesn't hurt them at all, but it works.

firstly get a soil sterilizer liquid an water in, no harm to plants. then orange peel over the area, cats hate it, it rots away making good fertilizer.

I use citrus fruits.
Quartered lemons works best, you need to replace them after about 4 to 5 days.
Good Luck
