I prefer average. I like a man to just be nice and regular and sweet.

For women it can differ. You question can not be generalized because I know that for myself, I don't really generalize a person by their shape. There are so many other things that makes me like someone. A great personality is a start. They must be funny, serious when needs be and romantic. They must have self esteem and be proud of who they are within their own skin. They must have a path or goal in life, be self supportive (meaning that they aren't looking to have a woman carry them, they can manage on their own). Then I look at their body type. The body type to me can be very misleading. I have been with men/women of all sizes and I tend to not be one to go after someone just because of the way that they look.
Sorry that I couldn't help you out some more, but, I just feel that there are so many other things that need to be looked at first rather than the body type. Although, the body features are the first thing that a person sees, so there has to be at least some kind of physical attraction.

I dont know what you mean by average and athletic but i like Lean muscle that looks natural. I hate pumped up guys and fat men are a turn off.

I like almost all of them unless they are skinnier than me! Extremely obese is not attractive either.
