Soccer hasn't been that big in India (at least my wife who's from there states this). I think the countries ability to play a sport directly relates to the size of the population that likes it. That way you have a larger more skilled population. Everyone tries out not just a few. Its the same reason the US doesnt do well in Soccer.
India does great in Cricket. US does well in Baseball and Basketball. These also happen to be the big sports in those countries.

First of all they should do away with the guys who control the football in india, get some professionals to search for real talent, and i think enough money will pour in to support the game. People like vijay mallya are still sponsoring some teams, also the game should be made more widespread, as of now it is more centralized in kolkata, it should be spread across india

India doesnt play professional football at the level where they can be eligible to play in the world cup.

i think india should participate in the fifa world cup in order to win it. let india participate then it will be decided

Not in a million years. I mean in Asia, Saudi Arabia could easily defeat them 5 to nothing. Saudi Arabia then loses to Germany 8-0.

They know if they participate in FIFA they will definately win...so they r giving chances for other countries to win...They r the best in all sports.
