Look for small family owned restaurants. Prices are usually cheaper than chain restaurants and the food is better. If you get to know the owners of these type places you can usually get discounts or other little perks. In the arena of cooking, go to the grocery store and pick out something you've never tried before, if you pick out one new or different thing everytime you're there you'll have a huge repetoire to not be bored with.

Curry is the spice of wonder. It goes great with broccoli and chicekn, rice, eggs, etc. Or, you can get some nice cook books. I personally love to cook Indian, Irish, and Korean food for myself. The meals take a little longer to prepare, but usually are more healthy than my usual, off the top of my head meals. The recipies also get me eating a lot more of a variety of veggies than I normally would.

This recipe is recipe is simple enough for a teenager to make and incredibly delicious.
Italian Spaghetti Sauce
1 small onion, chopped
4 or 5 cloves of fresh garlice, chopped
2 jars of Ragu spaghetti sauce, any kind (I prefer Roasted Garlic)
1 pkg of Sweet Italian sausages (approx. 6)
I pkg of Angel Hair spaghetti
1. In a 5 qt. sauce pan, saute the chopped onions and garlic in a small amount of oil until tender, don't not brown.
2. Add the 2 jars of Ragu spaghetti sauce and stir well.
3. Add the package of sweet Italian sausages
4. Bring to a boil, lower the heat and simmer for approximately 30 minutes, covered.
5. Cook the Angel Hair spaghetti according to directions and drain well.
Serve with a green salad and hot garlic bread. Be prepared for loads of compliments.

1. Try using fresh herbs instead of the dried stuff.
2. New recipes? We enjoy trying Alton Brown's stuff from Good Eats on the Food Network.
3. Try using Indian spices in some of your meat dishes.

Really easy : 1. add dry onion soup mix to ground beef for hamburgers, 2. shape the burger sprinkle some soy sauce over burger then sprinkle some onion & garlic powder on top, 3. instead of making mac n cheese by box directions add less butter & milk & substitute sour cream with some chives 4. take skinless, boneless chix breast cover in italian salad dressing then coat in bread crumbs & bake 5. grill favorite sausage split lengthwise & grate parmesan or romano cheese on top & don't forget the peppers & onions 6. instead of cooked veggies serve carrot/celery sticks grape tomatoes cucumber slices with a dip
7. marinate chix tenders in wine soy & brown sugar then thread on skewers with pineapple & grill 8. instead of a meat main dish make omelettes with mushrooms peppers onions sausage bits whatever you like Hopefully these suggestions do not represent your usual fare. A simple stir fry is a nice change. For this recipe you can use beef, chicken, or shrimp. Serves four to six
1 lbs. meat of choice
3 cups fresh vegetables or 1 large bag frozen
1 can broth (chicken or beef-shrimp uses chicken)
1-3 tbs corn starch or flour
1/8 cup cold water
2-4 cups cooked rice
cook meat (I use a wok)
in the same pan add veggies and broth
cover and simmer until veggies are cooked
stir cornstarch into cold water and slowly add to pan
stir until thickened
serve over rice
Hope you enjoy!!

Mix up your food. Buy a cheap appetizer in a fancy restaurant, go buy chicken nuggets at McDonalds, get a burrito or quesadillas in taco bell, go buy your favorite drink in Starbucks, go home, and eat!
