You haven't indicated the length of time your child has been suffering from diarrhea. If longer than 24 hours, and you see signs of dehydration, get your child to a doctor. Your child could have a bacterial infection that can only be treated by a physician. If your child has had diarrhea for less than 24 hours, and is unable to take and sustain liquids, try feeding the child yogurt. There is something in yogurt that diarrhea seems to positively respond to. Don't give your child over-the-counter diarrhea medication or juices. Dehydration can be visably detected by observing the child's skin color and if you see any signs of sinking of the eyes. The child will also be listless, not responding to sound or touch.

this sounds funny but it is called the BRAT diet, it stands for Banana's, Rice, Apple's, and Toast and it is rec'd for kids with diarrhea along with fluids to keep the childs hydrated {pedialite is great for this} stay away from non 100% juice and gatorade as it is not good for children. If the child continues or has other symptoms call the doc. Hope this helps.

Particularly give the child Pedialyte to replenish the electrolytes lost through vomiting or diarrhea. (We have also used Gatorade as our son got older.) And, yes go see the doctor.

You can give s/he Pedialyte. It works very well on diarrhea for children and cleans out their systems. Good luck!

dont give him any apple ,pear ,white grape juice or anything like that. that will make the diarreah worst. give him pedialite and take him to the Dr. If you can get (10)intestinex capsules, dilute 1 in 3ozof liquid (pedialite, or juice thats sugar free),twice a day for 5 days. you can also give him yogurt.

If you are nursing, you have less to worry about. Nursing babies are much less likely to become dehydrated when experiencing diarrhea. I'll attach a link to a very good article from Dr. Sears. I hope it helps!

If you are using regular milk try switchiing to soy milk, if this is a regular problem. If this is not normal, let the diarhea run its course, the body is just trying to get rid of something it wants out. If your child is getting rash on th bottom, desitin.
