This is the UK education system.

He should be able to leave at christmas time - at the end of the term then

however, it is worth noting that although school is really boring and rubbish there is a reason that it is there. i would advise him to stay on and finish the year - he will need to do half of it anyway so he might as well get something useful out of it.

leaving school is a big decision and one that should be thought through carefully. he should be able to discuss his options with his parents, teachers, college advisors and career advisors - i wish you all the best

I think he has to stay until the end of the academic year. Give him a chance to get his GCSEs so that he has at least SOME qualifications. I have a Septmber birthday but luckily at Private School they are more willing to grade you by ability than age so I was technically a year ahead.

Its going to be tough for him though with limited qualifications, make sure he understands this and has surveyed all the options out there before leaving school. You cannot force him to stay in school and learn but just ensure he makes an informed decision.

Your compulsory education until 16 but the advice is the same!

The dumbest thing you will ever do is to drop out of school. You will regret it forever!

Do me a favor, stay in school, catch up and graduate.

It is tuff when you get behind, but it can be made up and you will probably like school better!

It is hard enough to make it with a BS from college,

If you're the child in question, you need to stick around at least unitl you learn to spell the word "School".

If a lifetime of pulling pints and flipping burgers at Wimpey's is your idea of a life, then get on with life. If not, then stay the education course.
