If I knew someone that somebody on here were seeking I would ask them for more details about who they are and how they claim to know this person. I would then take this information to the person they were seeking and let them decide if they want to be contacted.

I would never give out a persons confidential information on the back of a question posted on here.

That is a good point. You never know there motives for finding someone. If it is a lost realtive then professional help should be required to give the emotional and psychological help to all those involved as well.

You have sound reasoning here!

This is a difficult one...On one hand...and if someone is looking for a person and you know them or know of their location then perhaps they are not wanting to be found....perhaps it is best to respect that persons privacy. If you do know them ..then of course perhaps mentioning that you had seen that someone was looking for them would be in order....but I wouldn't divulge any info about them if I knew them and they asked me not to...
Then on the other hand...if someone was asking just generally and I had heard of this person ...I would probably say yes I knew or met that person once...as I have done in one of my previous answers..but I still wouldn't divulge too much information until I got more details from the person who was asking...and even then I would still be very cautious

Well it just depends really. You could ask that person asking for their address so you could forward onto the person they are looking for and then its up to them then. There are some strange people in this world so we just need to be a little more careful.

NO

only do it for yourself

when you make the effort, you question all the time if it is worth it and sometimes decide that the person does not want to be traced

If i knew the person they were looking for i would take their phone number and pass it on, that way the person can decide if they want to see them or not.
If I don't know them I can't help

Depends on the vibe they give out. If it's friendly, then go for it. If not, be vague. Very vague.
