I have been attacked on this site for stating that I am beautiful, smart, and I know it. Is that wrong? I have strived all of my life to be the best person I can be. I was blessed with physical beauty which was an added extra. Is it wrong for me to acknowledge the fact that i am pretty?

A lot of these answers rock. Kimmie? You rock! I will look up that song. The thing about me is that I love beautiful women and men and children and animals. I never hesitate to tell my Hubby, "Wow! Look at how pretty she is!" I always recognize beauty. I also recognize those who aren't model material for what beauty lies within. If I sound vain, I'm not. I am proud of my inner beauty and thankful for the outer beauty. I have very small breasts and have never had any man insult me because of it. Every body I think is vain sometimes.. I think it helps your self esteem.
It is like when someone offers a compliment and the receiver goes into denial and goes "am not" so the person goes "yeah you are". Ego booster that! Just imagine if the receiver goes"yeah i know.." the complimenter would regret saying that to the person and think of the person as FIGJAM (F**k I'm Good Just Ask Me). So there for when we pay a compliment and someone agrees are we really trying to pay them out??
I wouldn't call yourself pretty.. I think attractive has more impact. Pretty is like a 5 year old girl in a pretty pink dress!!
In my experience with people there is two kinds of beauty within people.. features and the beauty on the inside..
A person can be attractive looking but there inner (personality, compassion, sense of humour, attitude) is dog ugly..which even with their beauty makes them ugly!!
On the other hand peoples look can be dog ugly but there inners
are just beautiful and so you loose the looks and think the person is beautiful.
If you can say that you are an attractive person inside and out You Go Girl!!
Not everyones opinion is the same - you may like Blue, I may not.
You may think your pretty, I may not.
It is self value, if you believe in your self that is always a positive, they say that you have to learn to love yourself before you can love others.......

It certainly is not, "I am beautiful Damn It" Look up that song and just keep playing it to yourself over and over again! lol Thats more of a remedy for ppl who don't think they are! I know for a fact that most men would love to date me b/c I have huge breasts but I also know I'm intelligent and beautiful so I give out a pic of my shoulders up and then when they have proved they like me for me I give out a whole body shot By the way the song IS great I love it

My wife tells everyone I look like Don Johnson, and they always agree with her. Indeed, many of the people we know sometimes call me 'Don' for a laugh. Even my kids call me that sometimes too.
Meantime, when I look in the mirror when I shave, I see no-one else but me.
May I suggest you do the same? See only YOU. Not what you believe other people should see AND acknowledge. You do sound vain though...

It's not wrong, in fact it's healthy. When you state that you are beautiful, and others get offended, it's THEIR insecurity coming out. It's funny, but if you say you are beautiful on the INSIDE, most people aren't offended - they tell you that's great. But as soon as you say that you are attractive on the OUTSIDE, then people get weird - they feel insecure about their own physical attractiveness, and this is why they get upset. (That's my theory, anyway...).
I have no problem saying I am an attractive man - because I AM. And it's not just ME saying it - I've been told that I am good looking, handsome, attractive, cute, adorable, pretty, hot, etc. Eat your heart out, suckas!

It is not wrong at all to have a self esteem but it will surely be wrong if boast and exagerrate about something.
Knowing and believing never causes trouble but blind trust and over confidence can surely harm you.

no! it is not wrong... but do not turn to be an arrogant person and do not underestimate th beauty and capabilities of others. it is nice for someone to know himself/herself, but it is even better to be able to know and appreciate others too.
one thing you may suffer from, is that not everyone will see you the way you see yourself, so do not be disappointed or surprised.

it is fine to believe that you are a beautiful person inside but sometimes when you tell too many people about it, they will just think that you are showing off ( and people don't like it) so i think you should just keep it to yourself
