I've the twins at 20 1/2 months now.. so I'm right behind you.
You really need to "rotate the stock" and keep new toys in front of him. Yesterday, I bounced a 'super ball' against the wall, - and he copied me.
The girl has been taught which button to push for the DVD player. A lot of clapping involved.
Somersaults, -that happened yesterday too... more clapping.
Also headstands against the wall. Numbers, colors, any kind of dancing. Talking outloud as you do daily chores.
Boys (may) like more exploring and doing. We go to McDonald's Playplace.
And at this age, - there may not be a boy or girl parsing of play activities. I've found the boy to be a 'sweetie' and the girl to be more physically active.
PS. You're son WILL miss out, - since you can never replace a father, but you can somewhat soften the blow.

find a male friend, or a partner, or an uncle and involve him to play and give sincere attention to your child. Try to play a role like a man behaviour, forget sometimes that u r a mother and be daddy, the though and funny guy!
I see my friend, that got only a child, the child miss a lot having others kids around, like a brother or sister, so the mum pretend she is a boy or girl and play with her child. Pretend, like in a drama play and ask for the attention of a gentleman sometimes.

I would not worry about his manly qualities, the will come on their own when he gets older. I also raised a son on my own, his dad left when he was 8 months old and he is doing fine he loves basketball, football, every thing a grown man loves, Let him play with cars and trucks and take them apart, let him he a child and as he grows and has friends in school those qualities will come

If you are worried about the man part of things buy him a plastic building set. They do make them with extra large pieces so they are safe for the little ones. Also just get out there and play catch they love it.
GOOD LUCK LOL

take him swimming, or play ball in the park. a "mans" side of play is the rough tickling, teasing side, and maybe get your dad or an uncle involved
