I was adopted and am looking for my birthmother. I want to make a webpage with my birthdate and when someone does a search with the birthdate they see my webpage! It would be great if it was free. I made an angelfire webpage but it didn't come up on the search.

I think this is not proper way. Are u sure your real mother will search internet for you? I think it's better to ask about your real mother to your parent's who adopted u. You can contact embassy of your real mother's country. Hope you'll find your mother. I'll pray for you.

I'm sorry, but if it were that easy we'd all be doing it. Getting anywhere into the top three pages of search results is a pretty big deal; it is what SEO (search engine optimization) is all about and it's a billion+ dollar industry.

On the other hand, you might notice the blue boxes at the top of most of Google's search pages. People pay to get into those and we bid on "key words." Now with common phrases, it can cost over $3 for each time someone clicks on one of those links, but for something that really doesn't have any marketing value -- like a date, you might get into the blue boxes up top for as little as a penny per click. Read this link. They will answer some questions for you.

Best wishes! Have you tried any agencies yet? I klnow there are some that reunite birth families. So do private investigators.

First you need to set the Meta tags of the page, if you look at the page in a text editor you will see near the top this is where the search engine gets the info to what is in the page, unfortunately I don't know that much about them but there are loads on the search engines about them then you submit your site to one of the following:-

First of all, your site has to be submitted to the "search engines"

this means, you will have to go to each search engine, meaning Yahoo!, Google, and MSN... Dogpile, etc. and "submit your site" to the search engines.

However, even if you DO submit to the engines, it is not guaranteed that your site will show up even CLOSE to the first page. It's pretty complicated... You would have to pay to have your site indexed closer to the front. Even then, there's still a chance that your site would be on the third or fourth, even 12th page.

You have to have "keywords" in the meta content on your site, anyways, in order for the search engines to find it. Keywords, in your case, would be your date of birth in every possibly imaginable format (as in, MM/DD/YY, MM/D/YYYY, MM/DD/YYY, month-day-year, month/day/year, etc).

There is a site called PeopleSite.com.

I used this to help me find my birthmother. They were actually able to give me her physical address, as well as the add and phone # of my half brother, etc.

PeopleSite is an EXCELLENT resource. It's free, all you do is put up your life story (your name, date of birth, details about your mom if you know any, such as her name, maybe her date of birth, even just the fact that you were adopted... then your adoptive parent's names and ages)... There are records out there that other people have access to, say, because of their jobs. These people read over all the "life stories" of other people, and can give you information they have access to, for free, out of the kindness of their hearts.

Or, your birth mother might be on PeopleSite, looking for you.

Try it out. It's much more effective and easier than trying to make a website.

I wish you luck, in finding your mother. :D

You normally have to pay to get it to show up in the top 5, depending on the website. You can submit it free to certain search engines. I used to always use http://www.submitexpress.com they will submit it to like 10 search engines for free and more if you pay.

Hi,
if you use a domain name from your ISP, like www.***.com/personal/myname, search engines won't rank you. You need to purchase your own domain name such as www.myname.com and optimise it. although if it's a specific search on your name, you should come at the top.
