argentina has a lot of new players like maxi and messi, and few oldies like crespo and sorin
but look what germany has
Klose - Highest goal scorer so far
Podelski - one of the 2nd highest goal scorers
which makes their forwards unstoppable
then theres ballack (one of the best midfeild today)
and their defense cannot be penetrated easily, they didnt give out a single goal for 3 matches
but argentina where stuggling against mexico!

I guess it's because Germanys' record hasn't been very impressive over the last few years. But I think that the team has really done us proud so far in this World Cup, and I've enjoyed watching them. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll be able to beat Argentina. If they don't, at least they can leave this tournament with their heads held high. They received so much bad press(at home) before the WC started, and they've proven them all wrong. So for me, they already are the winners anyway :) Last time around they made it to the final, despite not playing great football(and then lost against Brazil despite being the better team in that game!)... maybe this time around they can go all the way. Would be nice.

I agree, Argentina were lucky to get past Mexico, whilst Germany has been solid throughout. Argentina will struggle to get over the home crowd influence on the Germans and will lose 2-0 with goals to Ballack and Klose.

Well, Argentina proved themselves alot more than Germany so far, having to beat Ivory Coast, Netherlands and Mexico. All of those games were hard and they had to be great in attack and defense.
While Germany only had to face weaker opponents, like Costa Rica, Poland and Ecuador with half of the main team on the bench (since they were already qualified they kept their best for England). So it's pretty hard to say if Germany is really fit to fight the big ones.
But like everyone pointed out, both teams have awesome players, I think this game will be decided by wonder goals, since both teams have great defences.

Because Argentina is a great team right now, while Germany is still rebuilding a new team.
Could be a surprise since a) Germany is home country, and b) Germany might be turning into a great team quicker than expected.
I'm going with Argentina since they've already proven they're a great team.

Germany can defeat Argentina and those who think Argentina can win they are sleeping. Argentina may have good player but they can not ignore Germany and the thing is needed at right now is good form which is in favour of Germany.

people if ever favor argentina that would be because of maradona's will otherwise i don't favor argentina.
argentina has a capacity to come off with flying colors against any team,
argentina victory prediction is very difficult task . because sometimes it looks gaint , sometimes it looks average level team.
we can expect good or bad from argentina.
i am going with germanyso germany is one of my favourite team.
germany has good strikers . germany attack is very good and they have a potential to score maximum score the whole team is not rely on one player. in poland match neuvelle scored the goal , ballack did not make any goal but i think this is in ballack habit to score goals in big and critical matches. then polodski scored tremendous goals in the match against sweden it is that team which equalized the match played with england.
don't forget schneider he is the main centre half player who makes move he played role in scoring most of the goals and he can put pressure on the rival team.
in small matches klose is very good look at his performance in 2002 final world cup. brazil's players were covered him up and they were not allowing him to score goals as his specialism was to score goals with his head.
argentina has produced many great players they are considered as the one of the masters of football . but germans are not less they have won the world cup 3 times more than the ratio of argentina.
nowadays i donot know but it might be the plus point for german s that they are playing in their home.
germans are famous for fight till death.
i prefer german to argentina.

Because Argentina has great players, while Germany only good ones. Even so, it’ll be interesting. Argentina is a bit better, but Germany is the host and has a great form.

Argentina is all time favorite... Most people cheers for Argentina even if any other team plays 1000 time better than ARG....
I think it's because of Maradona... Everyone likes him so that supports his country....

I have fun watching Argentina, I can see the beauty when they pass and draw a very charming way to score a goal.
