Also, not that I have heard. 2 friends of mine and my sister have also had uteran polyps. It is not a 'huge' operation. Think more positively about that you are doing something to fix your body. They can be quite painful.
Any and every operation is quite scary. If you have never been operated on before, it is even more frightful. If you are religious, try prayer meditations to help ease your anxiety before you are rolled in, or do the positive cycle of thought. Finding a good time and focusing on that.
In this situation, I would do as the doctor prescribes and have them removed.
I am sure they have given you the odds of the operation. Most issue's occur when you have a reaction to the sedation. Other than that, when they sedate you, you are night night, then next thing you know, it is all done. Good luck, and get well soon!

You can try lemonade detox diet. For about 7 to 10 days, constantly drink a mix of lemon juice, (raw honey, maple syrup or stevia - to sweeten), and cayenne pepper. Eat nothing.

Your system will flush out many things that have been building up in your system. The polyp may go along with it.

If you are feeling adventurous, go longer if you do not yet see results. Gradually introduce things like juice then light berries and fruits, then vegetable juices (if you have a machine) (if not, V8 low sodium should do it), then vegetables, then high fibre grains (Kashi Go Lean cereal if you don't have fresh grains), then light proteins (like beans without sugar, salt or MSG), then tuna or fish.

My diet recommendation thereafter is to eat vegetarian, supplement with B complex especially B-12, reduce dramatically anything containing wheat and sugar. Substitute with squashes and stevia respectively.

Good luck and good health

Also,
We may not be doctors, but we can take advice from those who are and who have researched with a great measure of success a wide variety of treatment avenues both Western, Eastern and beyond. Most surgeries are unnecessary, we usually need to find out what is the cause of the problem created.

Giving our systems a break and using a liquid diet for a length of time makes good sense. Our systems are flooded everyday with poor health. We need to give it a break and a chance to renew. There are no bad effects that can come of it.

i have had that, dont worry darling is nothing at all, its just a little operation, and its over in about 20 minutes, but you do have to have it taken off there is no medication sorry, dont be scared, its like having a filling in your tooth and there is no pain afterwards either, it might just burn a tiny bit when you do a pee for a few days.

For any surgery, they will put you to sleep, and you won't feel a thing. If it is something you should have done, you really should do it.

DO NOT listen to any answers here. We are not doctors ....... surgeries are done every day and people are fine.
Talk to your doctor about your fears!
