You shouldn't. Dairy is the single biggest allergen in babies under a year old. If you *are* giving dairy products, yogurt is less likely to cause allergies (because the milk protein is partially broken down by the bacteria that create the yogurt), but why risk it? Wait until the baby's first birthday.

I would wait awhile on that. I think the cultures in the yogurt are not good for a baby. Wait till their a year or 18 months old, when their digestive system has a chance to develop more

Seems to be a little bit early. I am not sure though. We started to give natural yogurt to our daughter when she was 12 months old.

Babies under one year of age shouldnt have anything with live bacteria in it such as natural yogurt or honey. Their stomachs are not equiped to deal with it yet.
This comes from experience as I am a mum myself.
Packaging should contain information about this as well,so have a quick read of the labels as all products vary in ingredients.

Yes, the milk protein in yogurt is broken down, making it safe for baby from 6 months (unless there is a family history of milk allergy). See http://www.homemade-baby-food-recipes.com/introduce-dairy-foods-to-baby.html for advice about introducing dairy foods to a baby.

This is a question that you can answer. My son was a large kiddo and when he wasn't sleeping through the night my mother suggested that i give him rice cereal and yogurt and milk mixed up. Guess who slept through the night! My Dr. would have had a fit, but what do you think people did years ago, yes, they fed their kiddos whatever they could. I think we put too much attention on food these days...if you do feed your kiddo yogurt, please introduce it slowly. You don't want stomache aches.
Enjoy....you're on the right track.

I am a nutritionist
yogurt is the only dairy product that you can give at 6 months :)
its easily digested and tastes good
make sure you are using full fat (not skim or 2%)
make sure you use PLAIN (no fruit no sugar and absolutely no NutraSweet)

I would ask your doctor first. Regular dairy is not supposed to be given before age 1 as far as i know.... some babies may be able to tolerate it earlier but if not you will end up with a cranky, messy baby, if you know what i mean.

Yes. no problem at all... try blending it with a little fresh fruit to sweeten it. My little boy loved it and it has lots of health benefits. I started my son on it when he was 6 months and used to mix up cereal and fruit with it for breakfast.
