Michael Jackson is still very much a BLACK man. I though, we in the United States, have moved away from calling people ethnicities based on their skin color.

Michael Jackson's heritage is very much African-American even though his color is white. Proof? When Michael Jackson was booked on child-molestation charges, on his official mug shot description he put BLACK.

So, is Michael Jackson white? Physically he is white... how is white? Let me answer.

Skin bleaching... sike. No. Not really.

The truth/history regarding Michael Jackson's skin is a medical mystery.

From a very early age, Michael has had dermatological problems regarding his skin including rashes, terrible acne, and the infamous vitiligo.

If you heard it once, you've heard it a thousand times that it is a disease typically found in black people. This part is true. It erases the pigmentation in your skin. The crazy thing that some people believe that it was an entire body experience with Michael Jackson.

The answer is no. It wasn't.

MIchael Jackson folklore time...

The one silver glove.... to hide marks of vitiligo on his left hand. (Maybe true..)

The bandages around his finger-tips during the late 80s to hide black skin under his fingernails uneffected by vitiligo (Smooth Criminal, The Way You Make Me Feel, Dirty Diana, etc.)... (false, those are really morphine strips that injects small amounts of morphine through the skin).

The truth about his early transformation white is a veil of white make-up paste. Michael was truly darker than the pasty-white we see now until the early 90s.

Remember when Diane Diamond found that bleaching cream in the Jackson's trunk from 1984. It was a plant. Michael Jackson has not bleached his skin.

What you see today is a pasty-white Michael Jackson brought on by medicine to permanently erase the pigmented skin away. Bleaching is too intense for someone that has had so many skin problems that MIchael Jackson has.

So no. There are no thousands of bleach tubes hiding under Neverland. Sorry! It's brought on by medicene

Michael Jackson is African American. His skin appears light in appearance because he has something done to his skin to make it look that way. It may be some sort of bleaching process or something. I can't remember what it was, but I do remember that he does have something done to lighten it. I've heard people say that he is trying to be white, so maybe that's why he did it. I'm not saying that I think that; I'm only saying that's what I've heard people say. I am not prejudice. I really like his song and video called "Thriller."

I think people should be happy with whatever skin color they were born with. You know black people aren't the only ones that try to change their skin color. I think it is ridiculous the way white people purposely go to tanning parlors and lay out in the sun to try to make their skin darker. My skin is so light people ask me if my shoulders have ever seen the light of the sun in a teasing manner. But that's okay because I like the way I look, skin and all. I also think it's ridiculous the way my oldest niece says she is never going to have a baby because she doesn't want a "black" baby. She is 1/2 Caucasian and 1/2 African American. I hope she grows up one day to accept skin color as it is. I love her and want her to be accepting of herself and others as the beautiful way they are.

He was born black but he IS white, and I believe he got a lot more trouble being white than black, his white skin can't be exposed to direct sunlight too often or it'll be irritated, and he's not plastic, the skin is made of silicon. polymethyl silicon or something.

hahaha...wow, this is really a tough question, cause i dunno how to answer the first part. To me, he'll always be black.

Now, back in the early 90's, they had a made for tv movie about the jacksons. The reason he's white now is because in the 80's, he was performing on tour, and pepsi sponsered him. He was going through his routines, and the sign "erupted" on him, causing him 2nd and 3rd degree burns.

So, he had his skin grafted and fixed - and then the nose job followed that.

Both parents are African-American, therefore he's Black!
Nobody knows EXACTLY the reason and conditions of his skin-whitening. He's always been saying that he did it for medical reasons and almost everyone thinks, it's because he felt bad with his dark skin.
