I find it hard to compare the two seeing as they never played each other. Pele was retired when Maradonna just began his career.

Maradonna was a great footballplayer, he did magic with the bal. But...
Just watch Pele play. He has fun playing his opponents as well. Maradonna rarely did that. I think it shows great class being able to do that.

My Answer = Pele
Reasons: Pele was a man that made the revolution. He was the hero that set the pace for black Brazilian players. He proved that football is not a racial issue. He displayed a wealthy skill while on ball. He has the tactics for beating his opponents to the ball. He was a player that no Brazilian(The most football-inclined nation) player has ever boasted of attaining or matching his feats. He had displayed a great personality while on and off the game. He is widely recommended by conscious parents as their children's role model. He didn't do drugs and he was never accused of other immoralities. He was naturally enhanced, strenghtened, and powered. He still beat Maradona who was powered and geared up with drugs (narcotics e.g. cocaine etc.) in his playing days. Maradona played when there was a wide advertising power, and Pele played when there was little or no media interference and he still made a name till date. And alas, he has a good health unlike Maradona whose life is about to be ruined by excess intakes of drugs, self abuse and of course personality abuse. Reputation, football, lifestyle, tactics, influences etc, Pele beat Maradona to it!

this man is a genius, I like Pele but I don't think he was better than Maradonna in anyway.
The best in Maradonna that he can lead the hole team and drive them to winning any competition.

I don't, Pele scored more goals, won 3 world cups, and he played his first world cup at age 15. Pele was great on and off the field. Maradona got into drug scandals.

Both were grat players but i rank maradona higher than pele because pele was into a team full of stars who could have made brazil top of the world even without Pele but Maradona single handedly won the world cup with average players in his team . thats my tribute to his individual brilliance
