I'm not too worried about England's performances just yet, we tend to play better against the big teams anyway. However, unless we improve alot then we will really get shown up against Brazil in the semi finals.
I think Brazil will win it (as usual!) and 6 of the other last 8 are all on a similar level to each other (France, Portugal, England, Italy, Germany, Argentina). If Brazil don't win it then I think England have a bout a 1 in 6 chance...only team in the last 8 with no chance is the Ukraine.

Lets talk about Facts:
Semi final would be among Brasil and England. And no doubt about Brasil coming winner out of that Battle. So, England has almost 0.00000000000001% chances unless ENG do some real Abra ca Dabra like Ukraine against SUI or Korea against Brasil in 1994 USA World cup where they scored 2 goals in 89 and 90th minutes to level up with Brasil.

At this point, they just don't have enough talent left to beat Brazil or Argentina (Owen re-injuring himself sure didn't help them).
The only thing England has going for it is that European teams usually win when the World Cup is played in Europe (Brazil is the only non-European team to win in Europe - in fact, Brazil has won in every continent except Africa, which hosts its first Cup in 2010). England is still at the same general level as the other European teams.
I just don't think having the Cup in Europe will be enough, considering how strong Brazil and Argentina are this year, though.

They're going to get better as the opposition does. They can win it allright, but they need to sure up the back half. Beckham looks tired, and Lampard is just as devestating with a free kick. So why not rest Becks for last 30mins? England have so much talent on the park that they need to take a leaf out of the Australian or Ukranian sides and forget about ego's and play as a team for the team. When on fire, who could possibly beat a side that contains Rooney, Gerrard, Beckham, Lampard etc. Tidy up the defence and England can win.
But im going for France!

No chance..England is the weakest team (next to Ukraine) of the final 8. Even if they get past Portugal (which I doubt) they will eventually be exposed and be crushed by Brazil.

no way, they havn't been performing well and that's the truth. they lost owen and that's a pity. rooney have not score yet. beckham..... have only scored one so it's a noway that they are going ot win. I don't even think they can beat agentina. It will be a war , but, they will meet brazil if they survive all this. They have new players and that erikson's tactic isn't working, he got a handful of knowledge but his's not using it. so far they only scored max 2 goals

Well they have a difficult root through the Final they have to beat Portugal and Brazil but if they improve their play they could at least have some hopes for the bronze medal... I know it is not what we all want...
I dont know what it is but there is something that is keeping them appart from the golden medal

England will eventually have to play Brazil. Brazil is hot! If England does not bring their A game to the dance, they lose.... end of point!
