not really a question...just wanted to share with you all, the ammendment to the constitution to discriminate against an entire group of people was voted down by the senate, but will still go to the house of representatives this summer. you can go to http://www.hrcactioncenter.org/campaign/fma_postcards to take action.

if you want to help support the movement for LGBT rights by donating, you can get involved by going to this site: http://www.hrc.org.

cheers.

The whole thing was a smokescreen for Conservatives and Republicans to appease their base -- even they know it has no chance to succeed in Congress. But, for the upcoming election, they can say "See, we tried! We need your money and your support even more to get this into law." They'll need it -- their base is expressing lots of disapproval.

Most horrific of all is that they wasted time and attention on this.

As for me, I'm already supporting HRC and the work they do.

Society takes a long time to accept new things and I think that the term Gay Marriage is still offenseve to many even though most str8 people have one or more gay friends. Things must be taken slowly in order for people to adjust. I think if you took a poll civil union would win hands down. Look how long integration took. Lets just take this slowly People will gradually see the light. Just my opinion, but then again I could be wrong LOL

Gay marriage ban is a catch phrase which is false.

The government is not trying to ban gay marriage.

The people who keep attempting this are trying to get a constitutional amendment to prevent ANY state from treating gay marriage as equal to straight marriage.

They know that can't actually prevent gay people from getting married. So they use this type of legislation to discriminate against one group of people.

It really sucks that people of America really think this is ok. Nobody gives a "Fword" about the 4th ammendment until it is their own equal rights that get trampled.

there should be a ban on gay marriage. gays should not be allowed to get married. a marriage is between a man AND a woman. thats it. end of story. if you are gay be happy you live in a country what does not put you in jail for it.

Please don't worry about this action too much...because to pass such an amendment would mean having to admit that church & state are not as separate as they would like you to believe...which would reek havoc answering to their voting constituants for many many years to come.
