Army is asking for 17 Billion more dollaroos.

Marine Corps is asking for nearly 14 Billion Bux.

The Air Force is still calculating and the navy wants its due.

In june 54 troops were killed using means from IED's to Heads Sawed off.

Quickly approaching 3000 guys and gals dead and thousands maimed for life.

The number of dead Iraqi's is rising and the Resistance destroys the oil pipelines as faster than Halliburton can rebuild them (Halliburton im sure is loving it).

Yes it was worth it. The monetary cost of continuing the policy of containment would have also been extremely high, so the financial cost evens out enough to not be an issue. Also, due to the volatility in that region, chances are foreign military intervention would have been required in the future anyways; If Saddam would have been assasinated or otherwise died, the region would have went almost instantly into civil war, and there wouldn't even be a prospect of stopping it. At least with U.S and Coalition forces in Iraq there is a possibility of fixing the problem before it really gets out of hand. The fact that we're approaching 3000 fallen soldiers is, while sad, not as bad as it probably would have been had they needed to go in after the region was already in chaos. Unfortunately, there are some situations and problems that can only result in war; The only question is whether to deal with them head-on like Bush has, or wait for it to happen at an unknown future date.

Yea Dude I think its all about the quick buck for these big companies and look at all these private contractors they hire .At least thats what they call them now.It is just another V.Nam were fighting a lost battle.For what ?The administration uses words to convince the American public.144 Billion Wow you can feed the world with that.

Those 100 billion bucks support an unrealistic military budget, and all find their way back in to the very deep pockets of GWs cronies. Until the US reforms its military spending, american forces, and innocent civilians the world over will continue to die, and there will be wars for every presidential term.

Spending all this money.. I dont think its worth it. Specially just to rebuild and then re blow the place up. I blame Bush. He doesnt know what he is doing. just like when he bought his ranch, he tried to milk a HORSE
