Because Iran is a country full of nuts and loose cannon's. Any psycho nuts that can twist the beautiful writings of Allah to mean lets murder everyone, who is not like us ,or does not share our beliefs, do not deserve the trust of responsibility of Nuclear power. In other words, they can not be trusted, to do the right thing. For those in U.S. that do not get it, it would be as if all the Baptist wanted all the Catholics dead, who wanted the the, Lutherans dead, who wanted they Methodist dead, etc etc etc....for no other reason than being different..so much killing that the people do not remember the reasons, it is tit for tat, it is as stupid a concept as your question.

Well let's see....Last time I checked, Israel hasn't stormed the American embassy and taken all the people inside hostage in recent or past history. I also don't recall any rantings from Israel's people or government refer to us westerners as infidels that should be wiped off the face of the Earth. I cannot say the same about Iran. I also don't believe for a nanosecond that their nuclear program is "peaceful" as you say. (If you do then I've got some ocean front property in Arizona I'll sell you REAL cheap!)

In summary, I'd have to say given their track record in the past, they just don't seem responsible or "peaceful" enough to allow them to posess the ingredients of a nuclear bomb. If you TRULY believe their intentions are peaceful, why is it they refused to let us build and run their "peaceful" power plants for them? Not to mention the fact that they're basically "floating" on oil which raises the question as to why they would need nuclear power anyway when it would be much cheaper to use the natural resources they have in excess to power their country? Nuclear power is NOT cheap.

Israel has had nuclear capabilities for over 20 years and has never threaten anyone with it even though they have been repeatedly attacked .

The only thing dangerous about Israel is that they don't use their nuclear strength on Iran that is always calling for Israels destruction.

If Iran is so peaceful then why do they support terrorist groups like Hezbollah and threaten America and any other country that is not Muslim.

Ditto for me on the first answer. Furthermore, the President of Iran has said that Israel should be wiped off the map, which is a veiled threat, and if he is enriching Uranium he will be able to make nuclear weapons to follow through with his threat.

Because the Jews contribute too much money to American politicians' campaigns. If the state of Israel were never created, America's 9/11 would never have happened because the Muslims wouldn't have anything to be mad about.

Because Isreal has not threatened to destroy it's neighbors just for existing, as Iran has done to Isreal. Or did you just choose to ignore that fact. When has Isreal ever said it did not accept the existance of Jordan, Syria , Egypt, Iran, and would wipe them from the face of the Earth because they are not Jewish, as those countries have in the past said about Isreal?

Because 'the west', as you put it, doesn't trust middle eastern governments not to reprocess uranium into weapons grade plutonium and secretly develop a nuclear weapon for use against Israel. But they do trust Israel not to use WMDs. And I concur, as it happens

They've had it (unofficially) for many years. They aren't threatening to annihilate another country.

Israelis don't set aside a national day each week to chant hatred for another nation like the Iranians do toward the U.S.

Bottom line: It comes down to "trust", and the Iranians are severely lacking in that category...
