Many of organizations I know of are about to fold or combine because of lack of members and attendance---Amaranth, Red Men, Druids, Odd Fellows, Junior Order, or need more members to cover officer line, as Masons and Civitan.

Sorry, but the people have food, they have circuses, they have MTV, what can you offer them?

American Co-Masonry is growing in membership. First we are NOT a fraternal organization. We admit women and men. We have a greater purpose than just fundraising and service. We offer something that is sorely lacking in today's culture: a system of morality based upon ancient truths.

If the other organizations wish to attract members, I suggest they get back to their roots and investigate why they were formed in the first place. If all they are is fraternaties for old people, they will find that not many young people will fill their ranks. Why should they?

I looked at Sons of the American Revolution (I qualify BTW) and found nothing wrong but nothing to recommend it as a club for me. I looked at a couple other organizations that were either sexist or meaningless beyond weekly get togethers and fund-raisers.

Now I travel 800 miles a month to attend two Lodges, one in Santa Cruz and one in Los Angeles. We have people in our Lodges, men and women, from 21 to their 80s. We work together towards the betterment of mankind and ourselves. Pretty darned satisfying. I have only missed two meetings in two and half years.

Best of luck. I want more folks helping the world. Not all are ready for Co-Masonry. Click on the link below or write me if I can be of any service.

This is a worldwide phenomenae .The world has become more money minded and less service minded and there are a lots of distractions & attractions . The wealthy like company of wealthy and spend lavishly on worldly pursuits and pleasures. The poor are busy to make both ends meet .The young are busy to face competition in all walks of life and face tension .The old are finding that the cost of living have become so high that whateverv their savings gave dwindled in value and do not earn same returns as before.
The bond between people have vanished. Religion has lost its moral force .The natural calamities and after effects are stunning.
New and new diseases are being discovered and the remedies are beyond most of the persons. The demands made on limited resources of volunatry organisations are so high.
So ways and means to bring communities together and to provide food shelter to the volunteers so that time wasted in commuting etc is reduced .

Bribe people with free food? I know this sounds ridiculous, but it has worked for some places. . .

Maybe you are not getting the word out enough about the organizations. I have not heard of a handful of the ones you mentioned, but then again, I'm a woman. . .
