First of all, where do you live? I would guess that for every legitimate talent or acting agent there are 100 or 1000 phonies. Not only phony, but they will take your money and get you NOTHING. First of all, if an agent thinks you have potential there WILL BE NO FEE TO YOU.
I would suggest that you check with your local ACTORS UNION. In Canada, it is ACTRA. Look up ACTRA if you can't find out the union near you. ACTRA should be able to link you to UNIONS in the US or GB or wherever. Use the net and contact KNOWN acting schools, the ones that FAMOUS ACTORS WENT TO. ASK THEM about legitimate agents. Don't be afraid to make a PHONE CALL to the likes of JULIARD or ACTRA to get info.

Best way to get exposure is through experience...either local theatre or independent films. Once you have a resume and "experience", even if you have had to donate your time to get it is, is worth it. Go on every audition you can, if you get the part show up on time, know your lines and do a great job. It take a lot of hard work, rehearsal and patience to put on a play or even a short segement in an independent film. The plus is that you get to see what it is really like before committing your life to such an undertaking.
Talent agents want to see that you are committed to becoming a success. If you have a track record of successes from professionals in a local market, it shows you are committed to being a success and are already working on a fan base.
Don't ever pay for an agent to represent you...many of the so calle reps have a scam. Only deal with legitimate companies and agents (check www.bbb.com).

I live in Bethlehem and My sisters have an agent that has her office in Allentown. Her agency is Star Talent and her name is Louis Miller. The way she works is if you get a gig she would get about 10% of your makings.

Sweetheart, you don't need an agent until you ARE an actress.
Agents won't talk to someone who WANT to be an actress.
Go to school, do some plays, move to LA or NYC and THEN worry about an agent.
If you make it THAT far I PROMISE to tell you how to get an agent...ok?
