What do you think would happen if I went down to Mexico and started waving an American flag? How long would I last before I got arrested? Now why cant I do that? yet they can come up here do whatever they feel like and think its perfectly ok. Mexicans think were soft and they think they can slowly descencitise us to the idea of them being here.

NO. The flag is more than a flag, it's the symbol and recognition of blood spilt, of stars being seen and freedom. It's not just a talisman. If a sports team is playing a team from another country then the rules of protocol say that they can fly their flag but it has to be below ours.
To fly a Mexican flag? In the United States? What's the message? That's where everyone goes off course! If you are pandering to LEGAL Mexicans who are in America? They're Americans! They have no need to raise a hand in honor of the Mexican flag. If they're here illegally? The flag is what? Honoring them? ridiculing them? Giving them hope? They are dishonorable to the Mexican flag and the American Flag. And as such I declare them misanthropes without a Country

I don't think foreign flags should be flown on United States soil. The obvious exceptions are foreign embassies (technically, not U.S. soil) and sporting events that involve foreign countries. I'm not a big fan of Jorge flying his Mexican flag in his front yard. Yeah, as an American (as long as he isn't here illegally) you have the right to free speech and displays of what you believe in as long as the display isn't harmful to someone else. But it's disrespectful to those who fight and die for our country (arguing whether or not the cause is just is for another topic). It's one thing to be proud of your heritage, but you should also be proud of where you are living now and if you're going to fly the national flag of a country, the Stars and Stripes better be there along side.

I think it is fine to fly a flag from another country, especially if you were born there. I do however think you should fly the U.S. flag as well. We as U.S. citizens have that right to fly which ever flag we want (except maybe the confederate flag, haha) I do see mexican flags frequently and it makes me wonder, if they are so proud of mexico and feel the need to fly that flag, why did they leave in the first place?

I think that it's OK to express your nationality. As long as the American flag is higher than the other flag. I am an American Citizen and I am proudly married to a Dominican man and we have both flags flying in front of our home!! My 2 children are half and half and I think that they should be proud of both nationalities!! After all, America is the MELTING POT!! Everyone who is living here are immigrants of some sort. Just check out your ancestors and see.

I just think that it's stupid and disgraceful when people have their flags spread out on the hoods of their cars.

It is ok if the Stars and Sripes is above the foreign flag. If Mexicans don't think the United States is best, they should pack up their flag and go home. The same people probably are not bothering to learn English, either.

Foreign flags may be flown in the U.S., (c) No other flag or pennant should be placed above or, if on the same level,
to the right of the flag of the United States of America, except during church
services conducted by naval chaplains at sea, when the church pennant may be
flown above the flag during church services for the personnel of the Navy. No
person shall display the flag of the United Nations or any other national or
international flag equal, above, or in a position of superior prominence or honor
to, or in place of, the flag of the United States at any place within the United
States or any Territory or possession thereof: Provided, That nothing in this
section shall make unlawful the continuance of the practice heretofore followed
of displaying the flag of the United Nations in a position of superior prominence
or honor, and other national flags in positions of equal prominence or honor,
with that of the flag of the United States at the headquarters of the United
Nations.
(d) The flag of the United States of America, when it is displayed with
another flag against a wall from crossed staffs, should be on the right, the flag's
own right, and its staff should be in front of the staff of the other flag.
(e) The flag of the United States of America should be at the center and at the
highest point of the group when a number of flags of States or localities or
pennants of societies are grouped and displayed from staffs.
(f) When flags of States, cities, or localities, or pennants of societies are flown
on the same halyard with the flag of the United States, the latter should always
be at the peak. When the flags are flown from adjacent staffs, the flag of the
United States should be hoisted first and lowered last. No such flag or pennant
may be placed above the flag of the United States or to the United States flag's
right.
(g) When flags of two or more nations are displayed, they are to be flown
from separate staffs of the same height. The flags should be of approximately
equal size. International usage forbids the display of the flag of one nation above
that of another nation in time of peace.

No, if you live in this country fly this flag. When you came here you agreed to assimilate into this culture. We are all united under one song (sang in English, btw) and one flag. Fly the American Flag or none at all. If your previous country/hertiage is so great, nobody is keeping you from going back there.

I believe the law is that you can fly another country's flag, but it has to be flown in conjunction with AND lower than the American Flag. I think it's okay as long as it's done the way it's supposed to be done.
