He is a cheat, plan and simple. How people can call him the greatest player of all time when you have the likes of pele. Don't get me wrong he did show some skill back in the days but to be honest so did most of the player then. The only reason alot of people know him is because of the "hand of god" incident.

He is one of the greatest but not the greatest he is on the top 5 and he is also obese right now but not when he played. he also cheated in a game in the world cup 86' i think not sure but he scored a goal with his hand and he admitted to it about a year ago.

Wrong ask.
Was Tyson one of the greater boxeur OR a a man guilty of rape?
Was George Best a great player OR an alcoholist?
and so on.
I think you need to subsitute OR with AND.
A sport champion is a man before to be a champion.
And many men do mistakes. Few of them are champions or horoes, in sport or work or life. We don't know their lives - and we don't to know them. TV and media are always scanning VIP and champions lives. Did we need this?
I'm concerned with Maradona way of life, but I can't forget his unique football skills and plays, he's been one of the greater champions.
Yesterday, Italian team captain Cannavaro has left the press conference when he heard the news about Gianluca Pessotto, former Juventus and Italy player, Juventus manager since few days. He's 35, we all remember him as one of the most correct and fair-playing footballer in the past years. He suffer depression illness and has tried to suicide jumping from a roof 20 meters high. What do i need think about? He's a mad man, young, rich, estimated, has just got a great job and he's trying to put an end at his life? Sounds it in a silly way?
OR
Do i need think great champion could be weak man too? Some of them become easy prey of drug, alcohol, other can suffer serious illness they weren't looking for?
By your asking we must wait many years to choose champions between former players... And negate it if one of them has its own mistakes and accident. I think it's wrong.

'Hand of God' and drugs aside. You cannot deny he almost single-handedly won Cup for Argentina in 86. You only have to look at his second goal against England and another in Semi vs Belgium to see how good he was. He also played a part in all 3 goals for Argentina in the Final.
