You know, this , besides the refereeing is becoming what the tournament is all about and will be remembered for. It should not be seen as an acceptable part of the game. I do not see it as creating opportunities. I see it as cheating also. If you can not win with skill and talent then perhaps they need to rethink their careers. It is spoiling games as it happens with increasing frequency.
As for FIFA crunching down that just a line they feed fans and media to keep them happy. They are too politically inclined to do anything serious about this problem. Big name teams make them big big dollars. Do you really think they are concerned.
And the referee's, well if they have not got the experience and common sense to see it and not fall for it, as we are seeing, the game will suffer. It would be good if they could implement a sin bin for these offences. Officials can monitor and control that without any fuss. If they had to sit off for 5 or 10 minutes, I bet you would see a huge reduction in these incidences and penalties can once again be awarded for real rule breaches. Tradition is great and important but some modern changes need to be implemented. This (the sin bin) would not involve to much of a change to upset those that don't want technology brought into the game. The only down side is the referee still has to have the sense to call a real dive from a fall or challenge.

Fifa should watch the match and introduce off the pitch yellow and red cards for simulation of diving or feining injury !!
The player will receive a yellow card officially for which he will then receive a one match ban if he already has one from the previous match / group matches or carries it through to the next. If carried through it would still require the referee to issue either two yellows or a red to be sent off. However as the player already has a yellow before the match, just a single yellow would result in him being suspended for the next match. Causing players to become suspended will soon stamp out the unsporting play of simulation and feigning injury !

i think that football needs more then 3 refs basketball have 5 of them for only 10 players ,football needs more than one on the field ,and lots of cameras like hockey ,well henry is not the only one that does that...
what do you think about zidane ? i thought that Spain is going to win that game, but France played great my favorite player was Emanuel Petit and if he would still played i would be betting on France to win again with brazil:D

I think the bad calls made by these refs will go down in history. We will look back at video clips of this World Cup and wonder why we allowed all of this to happen.

Its kinda of funny don't you think? Millionare's showin their bad acting skills..well, at least they use it for their advantage. Everyone does it..on every team..its part of the plan to win. No one wants to lose..and Henry is not the only one that's done that and gotten away with it in this world cup.

Well lets not single out players, they are all guilty of it. Not by any means that it makes it ok to do it.
But they are all simply trying to create chances of free kicks or players being given yellow cards, to try and make it easier for their team to win

Wasn't Rivaldo banned for 2 matches for feigning injury. More suspensions like this will help football.
