"que es llegs" - Right !!All this 'England will kick ***' AND 'Portugal is therefore going down'... sounds very much like another Portugal wanting to show style, quality and England approaching the game with desperatin and fear -- it is beginning to look like another Dirty Dutch game is on the way. Neither Portugal nor England are inclined to have that sort of behaviour on the pitch. Sir Bobby Charlton has praised Portugal publicly which confirms what I have just said.

"jam4207" -- If if have a typical England team and a typical Portuguese team we will have a tyical superb match, typical of any Portugal/England match in the past. And then let's see the PURE SKILL OF THE PORTUGUESE come out and win, hmmm... 2-0 and not referees helping one of the sides. The two enemies of the England squad are (1) Sven AND (2) the English press.

"schneidernn" -- what an intelligent analysis. It beats mine. Thanks. And how refreshing to see so many non-English and non-Portuguese view Saturday's match the way they do. Please search for my 'question' which I will entitle something like "RUSSIAN REFEREE AND THE BRITISH PRESS(28 June 2006)" -- You will like it. Than kyou all for the fantastic answers.

The more I hear the radio the more I believe that it is planned for the Saturday game England/Portugal to be another shameful referee work, just like in the Dirty Dutch shameful match !! The British radio and press are now BLAMING THE PORTUGUESE FOR BEING THE DIRTIEST PLAYERS IN THE TOURNAMNET... AND exhonerating the Dirty Dutch ! All that Portugal did was to react like red-bloodied men to that dirty behaviour by the Dirty Dutch. If that had been the English instead of Portugal the English would have snapped like you never saw them snap before. I suspect that is the ref's strategy for Sat. to let England through by cheating Portugal our of the WC... and to make Saturday more believable they are NOW accusing the Portuguese of being cheats when Bobby Charlton in Euros 2000 & 2004 praised Portugal for their eternal fair-play... and on BOTH Euros, Portugal beat the hell out of the England teams. Now we are 'divers' suddenly LOL

"niverpool" -- nor BALL_ !!! (signed Roonie) That reminds me... no major team outside England ever showed an interest in Roonie. 50 million pounds my foot (his, more likely) and he is as good as Pele... and the press here "There is a Giod" when Roonie was fit.. Ther is a God who sent him home after SHAMEFUL boot to BALL_ episode. I hope FIFA's full weight falls on his BALL_ !

"dutchdelight" - antogonising the referee ? Wow ! You mean the Dutch antogonized the referee BOFORE the match began ? 'Cause the foul on Ronaldo by your Dutchees happened SEVEN minutes after the match started... hardly time for the referee to have "antagonized" the payers. Naaaaa... the Dirty Dutch players were... hummmm dirty, LOL !! It was a good goal, though, don't you think ? When the teams were 11 against 11.

The problem with the Holland v Portugal match stemmed entirely from the stark raving bonkers referee! The referee suceeded in ruining the entire match by antagonising both teams of players, fans, other officials and creating an environment where tempers got hotter and hotter and the football got scrappier and scrappier.
It is unfortunate as prior to this 'fiasco' both Holland and Portugal would have been clear favorites to beat England but now Portugal must face the luke warm English side with a major disadvatage weighing against them. Who will Phil dare to play?
Holland supporter.

I have nothing against either team. I was quite impressed with the sportsmanship between England and Sweden in their match. I don't think the English team will resort to a game like that. They would be rather silly to. They need to play great football to beat Portugal as they have not really stamped any authority on their game as yet. This will be a great match but I think if Portugal play to their potential and can cover their losses and injuries they very well may take this match and advance even further which would be so wonderful or their country and supporters.
Good luck for a nice clean match. It would be nice to see one for a change.

i think england has cleared its postion now by hiring the refree who has vacant the both team by showing red and yellow cards.it was just due that england may not face any difficulty.
england is just wining only because of its luck.
i don't think so rooney is that much good . england won the previous match angainst equator just because of his captain david beckham.and nothing more.
how clever ? portugal main striker has been injured ronaldo . May he recover soon.
deco has shown red card for what.
it was totally unfair.
now the other players have shown yellow cards if they play another yellow card will vacant the portugal team.
i think here portugal has to make shot term strategies .
which can be changed after fifteen minutes , here the coach of portugal can play a vital role by replcaing the player and log them on to the field after making the full set up of playing position.
if know england will not bear the quick variations
replacement should be made in second half particularly but one in ist half.
england's strikers also has been injured owen.
so portugal need not to take pressure.
portugal should cover its striker let not to make any counter attacks. i am in the favour of portugal

i am disappointed with England's performance so far in the Cup they were below par on most ocassions and there fitness levels are a cause of concern. As for the England vs Portugal match Portugal will win 3-2 and there will no such wild battles as England players dont have any guts in them to show such aggresion

Sven has to prepare that England will be playing against Portugal, team with nothing to loose conditions. See they have already reaching quarter final, will be playing without Deco, had so many cards than other team, so what they had to loose?
Yes, he had to warn them in advance. Do not provoked by their action! Especially Beckham. Remember we dont want our key players miss next match, nor get injured.

England HAS the advantage....but they NEED to take advantage of this...if they plan on playing the winner of Brasil/France...because Portugal is still EXCELLENT with their Bench...DON'T UNDERESTIMATE them.. Portugal will still field 11 it just won't include Costinha or Deco...but as long as Figo is on the field..that is enough..he will lead that team to victory..considering Lampard and Terry still haven't scored and Owen is out...Portugal MUST also take advantage of the disadvantages England has by really not playing all that great...i mean they got 3 pts thanks to Paraguay...so...the fact they were 1st in their group is due to that..otherwise they have 4 pts and Sweden is first in that group...

Let's see who kick whose axx... I don't have particular preference but just want to watch an exciting game! It's better to be a fair play one that players go for the ball, instead of others' heads!
Hope the ref can do a better job as well!

Let's just hope that BOTH teams can play a good, CLEAN, fair, non-violent game without deception, without trickery, ect. I hope we see the TALENT of the players--and NOT their acting abilities or other unsportsman-like tactics to score goals !!! good luck to our favorite teams!!!
