Knowing that every time you stare your spouse in their eyes that you are being dishonest. Every time she thinks you're kissing her you wish you were kissing someone else. The feeling that you are a small man because you don't possess a teaspoon of common dignity to allow your spouse the option of whether or not they want to waste a moment more of their lives.
That pretty much sums it up.

I hope this answer just changed a life. Peace.

I would think having the affair in the first place would be the biggest regret, otherwise "regret" and "affair" are borderline contradictory.

Knowing that you don't have integrity. Ultimately, you are the one who will suffer because you will have to live with your poor choices. Just break up with the person - be honest!

You lose your partner's love, respect and trust. It will never be the same again. If you have children, they will get hurt the MOST.... so ashamed of you, they lose their self-esteem when they compare themselves to their friends who have loving parents.

It not only affects the person you're with but also affects your friends and family. And if she forgives you and stays, she may have forgiven but will never forget!
