I do, I'm sure it will be a little bit tough for the teams but hey i'm sure FIFA and the hosting country make tons of money it will be good for them and for the fans, it's hard to think that I have to wait another 4 years. :(

It wouldn't work. It's fine as it is. The Women's world cup is in 2 years from today, and for international teams, there is Euro Cup and the Copa de Liberatordes or something of that sort for Souther America. Hence, if it was every 2 years, international teams would be playing Euro and World Cup at the same time. That wouldn't work at all. Hell I want more soccer too, but that's just not possible.

Well they do have it every 2 years. It will be the women's world cup in 2 years, I believe in Australia. I know not the same right? I feel the same way but it will just make it more exciting in 2010 when it all happens again. I just hope that I can go enjoy the month long party next time. Too bad its in South Arfica and not closer to home.

My point entirely! I look forward to the world cup so much! Get so excited when it's with us and really ... Meals are arranged round games and yes i'm a woman! But love foot ball so much! I'm also a foot ball widow because my partner finds foot ball boring. He only watches one game every 5 or 6, retires to the bedroom to watch a DVD!!!

But i too would love to see the world cup every two years because it is so exciting, so fantastic and my only chance to really watch super teams. Someone suggested it would cost too much, would be impractical but surely ... We have to suffer the Eurovision song contest once a year!!! That costs a lot of money too and as for quality and enjoyment ? Nah!!! Give me the wold cup every second year !!! If you have any idea how we could move FIFA to do it and it involved petitions, marches etc... Let me know!!! I'll be there!!!

I heard that they wer thinking of that but i dont think it can happen. Teams that suck, have to organize fast to get in shape for matches. The eliminatories have to be somehow squeeze in those two years. Plus the World Cup maybe a lil bit less exciting becuase it more frequent. When playing every 4 years it has more excitement and more value.

It can't be played every 4 years. There is also the European Championship, as all the other Continent's Cups. Also the Olympic Games, Summer and Winter. You can't have all of them...

I'm going through withdrawal just thinking about post July 9th.
So, yeah, would love the World Cup to happen more frequently!

it's hard for me to wait that long, too, 'cuz I love the games, the excitement, the fans,...it would be pretty cool. but I wonder if we can get some new methods of "helping" out the refs make their calls.like maybe video help with something like "instant replay". Anything to bring back integrity to the game. i think it's safe to say that not too many people are happy with some calls we've been witnessing this year!

4 years is better, it's important to give the young talented player getting involved in WC and it's so hard to organize it in just 2 years

then it wouldn't be such a great event cause it will be so frequent and many might lose interest and then there's European Cup so it wouldn't be possible to organize World cup every 2 years....

I think it would cause all sorts of problems with the European Football Championships and other regional competitions which use the alternate year. Further there is a conflict with the Olympics which would further complicate things.
