It's a pain, It happens when the females egg isn't fertilized, it's removed from the body and than a new one is put in it's place.
If fertilization and pregnancy do not ensue, the uterus sheds the lining, culminating with menstruation, which marks the low point for estrogen activity. This manifests itself to the outer world in the form of the menses (also menstruum): essentially part of the endometrium and blood products that pass out of the body through the vagina. Although this is commonly referred to as blood, it differs in composition from venous blood.

The normal menstrual period is for 3 days, but to some ladies it happens for 4 to 7 days, which can be normalised by proper medication. Every month the body of woman forms an egg but the period of release is not known. If not fertilised by the semens of a man, it has to be flushed out by the body, else it may become dead becoming cause of some serious ailments including sceptic. Since that has to be flushed out only by some fluid and the effected inner parts are connected only with the blood veins, only blood becomes the source to flush out the egg.
