Yao has never even won a playoff series. Hes never been pass the first round even when he team lead 2-0. Shaqs teams dont lose games when they have da lead. Shaq has 4 rings and has taken every team hs been with to the finals. Yao is jsut overated and too soft. Another over hyped player produced by the media. Yao just doesnt have that killer instinct. Hes too soft. i remember when he first came to the league he would be getting blocked and pushed around and jsut didnt look like he belonged in the NBA. Hes stepped up hes game since then especially at the end of the season but i jsut dun see that winners killer instinct. That will to win to overcome and punish hes oponents. The talent is thier because he can shoot good but mentaly i dun think he can do it unless he can develop a way to be waay more agressive.

Shaq would...why? Well Yao's game consists of posting up and if he posted up against Shaq, he wouldn't get any results..but then he would fade away. He can't hit that all the time against Shaq. Then Shaq will own the rebounds because he is bigger. Shaq can post up and simply barge his way in to the point he just has to dunk it. If Yao would want to win..intentionally foul him.

Yao is entering his prime and Shaq is past his..plus Yao can actually shoot the ball and even Shaq said that Yao is the strongest center he's ever played against.

Shaq all day and twice on Sunday. Yao is too soft. He is trying to get better, but not yet. if it was a free throw contest, then Yao all the way!

firstly i think yao ming is a bit over rated i mean if you were that tall you could do most of the stuff he does and he is skinnier than shaq. shaquille o neal is a big solid player so i think shaq would beat him

Yao Ming, if he could use his height to his advantage, but shaq knows how to move around and use his body.

By the way, centers cannot play 1 on 1! That would be a hilarious game, seeing them lumber around the court. 1 on 1 is a little man's game (as a center, I know this).
