Redneck has many meanings. It used to have a really negative connotation, but when a lot of people use it today they just mean it as a synonym for a person from the country or an outdoorsy kind of person, or comedian Jeff Foxworthy's definition is a person with a down-to-earth "all-American absense of sophistication", which can be good or bad. I'm from Texas and I'm an outdoorsy country kind of gal, so I could consider myself a redneck, or "blackneck". I can also relate to JF's jokes because you can always such traits in your family, friends, or someone you know, like the uncle who keeps an extra roll of toilet paper in the glove compartment or the frugal lady who keeps the glamor cheap by glitzing up the lawn with ornaments purchased at a rummage sale and buying a faux fur coat for $20 at Wal-mart.

I realized that I was a redneck when I listened to Jeff Foxworthy. Words that I use all the time...like..ustacould. and fixin' to. So, yeah...I guess I'm a redneck. Cuz a lot of other stuff he said fits, too. Is that bad?
