To get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.
After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. (Though you have done it before keep on doing it.) The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your husband to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.
After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.
Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 5 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.

First of all, basal body temperature alone will probably *not* help you get pregnant. Your BBT tells you when you have already ovulated and it's *too late* to get pregnant this cycle. But I don't understand...how have you been using it if you don't know *how* to use it?
Typically, temperatures are in the 97 range before ovulation and 98 afterwards, but this is an *estimate*. It will *not* necessarily be true for you.
When your temperature is several tenths of a degree higher than the previous few temperatures, this is a sign that you have already ovulated. But, again, this is not very useful information if you are trying to get pregnant.
Please read _Taking Charge of Your Fertility_ by Toni Weschler for detailed information on how to read your signs of fertility to help you get pregnant. I promise it will help.

Back in the days when I was trying to conceive, I charted my temperature every day for a very long time. You don't say how old you are, but trying for a year is a long time if you are a youngish woman. It may be time for you to consider seeing a specialist.
As for your temperature as compared to others, that is not the best way to judge your fertility. Certainly some people have normal temperatures higher or lower than the norm and you may be one of them.
Good luck, I know it's not easy, but I've been that route and happily can say that it was worth it.

well there are ovualtion kits you can try im doing them now and they are great !!! you buy them at the drug store or any shop that sells pregnancy stuff... you buy an ovulation kit for 5 days it comes with 5 peeing cups and 5 tests you do one test a day for 5 days at the same time every day.... it sort of looks like a pregnancy test but for ovualtion.... it comes up positive when you are at your highest and that means you are going to ovulate in 24 - 36 hours so you have sex on the day you get a positive and the day after....its worked for alot of women thats just an easier thing to try so that when you know you are most fertile you can plan a romantic evening and just enjoy the night instead of worrying the WHOLE month about making sure that you and your husband had sex on certain days so goodluck and for the future CONGRATS

Quit taking your temperature and start using ovulation predictor kits! BBT will only let you know that you ovulated after it is too late to have sex/inseminate! You need to know that you are going to ovulate before you ovulate! So, go get some ovulation predictor kits from a local drug store, grocery store, discount store, or someplace like http://www.saveontests.com/ These are not perfect, but they are much more reliable than BBT and much easier to use! Also, take a look at Taking Charge of Your Fertility; this is a book with lots of good information!

It took me a year to get pregnant but i didn't chart anything or my ovulation. It happened i think when it was meant to be.
Go to http://www.mymonthlycycles.com and put in your period info and it will calculate when you will be fertile and ovulating.
In your search box type in "basal body temperature"
If you do need to see a really good doctor about this i know a very good one
