I was searching Google video and saw the Nike commercial on the Brazil team at the lockeroom and Thierry Henry (In "Joga 3" game style). Does anyone know what this whole "Joga Bonito" thing is?

"play beautifully"! play with style, rhythm, vitality, flair, show off, show your stuff on the field, play like you did when you were a kid, and "...never grow up, my friends!".

joga= play, game, etc

bonito= nice, beautiful, pretty, etc

It means Play beautiful. But there's more to that. It's actually what is called a small-sided game tournament involving 3 versus 3 players, and no goalkeepers. The goal is only 19 inches high and about 5 feet wide so it's hard to score. The playing area is roughly half the size of a tennis court. Superb technical skills with the ball is required to play this game because of the small area in which to play in and the small size of the goal. Competitions are currently underway around the world to determine the finalists that will represent their country in the next global soccer tournament after the World Cup 2006. This competition will be in July in beautiful Rio de Jenairo, Brazil and is sponsored by Nike. There are a number of places where Joga Bonito is being played right now here in the US, one of them being Los Angeles, California. I believe the other one is is New York and there are other places as well which I am not aware of.

joga bonito or 'PLAY BEAUTIFUL'' is used by NIKE'S SOCCER MARKETING CAMPAIGN

here is a cool website from nike football about joga bonito..enjoy!
