The FIFA World Cup happens every 4 years, last 4 years was the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea Japan where Brazil won their 5th title. 4 years later, 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany is currently in progress until a team win the title.
Every 4 years, 198 countries participate in the preliminaries just to get qualified into the World Cup. Out of the 198 countires, only 32 teams will be good enough to be qualified. Every 4 years, 32 teams that qualified to the FIFA World Cup will test their own strength to see if they are good enough to qualify into the Round of 16, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, Third Place Match and the Final Match. 4 years ago in 2002, South Korea won the most suprising team award just for getting 4th place. 4 years later, the most suprising event is that 4 out of 5 African teams that qualified are all first time qualifiers. Therefore, FIFA World Cup is the best and the biggest soccer event in the world.

For people who doesn't like soccer at all, or no interest in it. They will ask a question: "What is the big deal about the World Cup?" or "What so important about the World Cup?"

because its a hard sport to play and you only get to see the true world champion every 4 years at the highest level if the low scoring is a problem for you just think of it this way if a team is winning 1-0 it means the other team is never out of it ive noticed alot of sport commentators on espn pay more attention to it and is strange to see it in the US is hard if you dont understand the sport
