the vehicle will not start as long as you are cranking the engine with the ignition switch. If you bump the starter with the switch, sometimes it will start. once the engine warms up, it will start every time. any smart answers will be a big help.

I had that same problem, but on my 88 Camaro, On mine it was the solenoid. but it could also be the bat. connections to the Starter/solenoid. Change the solenoid, & make sure the new one has a heat shield. I'm assuming you might be missing or not have one (heat shield) just about any starter/alternator rebuild shop should be able to find you one that would fit.

I fixed mine by going ahead & having the Starter rebuild, (ACdelco) W/ a new solenoid. They gave me the heat shield for free. (it is like an aluminum plate that kinda curves around the Solenoid.) I installed myself & never had a problem since. : )
